Giveaway: Oprah's Featured Pie

You haven't had pie until you have tasted a pie from Mommie Helen's Bakery.  Since opening in 2000 in a strip mall in Colton, California, Dorothy Pryer Rose's desserts have become the favorite of common folk and celebrities alike.  

During the holidays, customers are known to stand in line a block long to wait their turn to be able to bring home a favorite treat. The Wall Street Journal reported how Shaquille O'Neal was Ms. Rose's first famous customer. He call's her "a very sweet lady" gifted with "the baker's touch." Other celebrities who are regular customer's include Magic Johnson, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon. Mommie Helen's Bakery was even featured in a May issue of Oprah's O Magazine.

With recipes inspired from Dorothy's mother who hailed from Texarkana, Texas, featured baked goods include several flavors of old-fashioned cakes, the famous Sweet Potato and Pecan Pies, and the popular Apple, Peach and Roseberry Cobblers. I have tried the rich and creamy Sweet Potato Pie which is absolutely delicious. However, it was the Roseberry Cobbler that made me a huge fan. Made from a combination of blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry and boysenberry, this array of sweet and flavorful berries are encased in a rich, buttery crust that is to die for.  Is your mouth watering yet? It should be!!
